If you have been following us lately, Fancier’s World just completed its first blog anniversary. To make for a special photo shoot I decided to wear something which would be current with the season, so summer white and flowers made sense. What could be me more chic yet affordable than Baby’s Breath! No it is not just a filler flower for wedding decorations. Personally I am in love with Baby’s Breath as it matches my minimalist style. So on came the project for a DIY Baby’s Breath Flower Crown.
Not only do these make for a great photo prop, they are also good for summer or garden parties or even as a return gift!
Supplies for DIY Baby’s Breath Flower Crown
- 1-2 bunches of Baby’s Breath flowers
- Floral Wire
- Wire Cutter
- Floral Tape
I bought all the supplies except the flowers from the Dollar Store.
Steps for DIY Baby’s Breath Flower Crown
- Measure your head with the floral wire so that it fits like a crown. Leaving some extra space, cut the floral wire up to your head measurement. Now bend the two edges to create a hook like closure. Hook the two ends together and pinch each hook using a pliers so that the closure is secured.
- Break off/Cut the baby breath stems into small bunches. I just broke off the stem at the nearest branching point as shown below.
- Line a single bunch along with the wire and wrap it using the green floral tape. Continue this all around the front part of the circumference of the crown and then wrap the rest of the wire using the floral tape. Also depending on your preference you can tape together more bunches and increase/decrease the distance between each of the bunches.
I made 2 of these crowns in 15 minutes for our photo shoot, definitely worth the time and money!
Aren’t these adorable? Akira of course felt like a little princess in it, and did not want to take it off. Even I was roaming around in it for a while. 😀
