Local weekend getaways are my favorite to unplug and rejuvenate. Steamboat Springs has been on our radar for quite some time now, as Downtown Steamboat Springs is among nation’s best small-town downtowns (even if one ignores the lure of hot springs). So when we got a good deal on the hotel, we did not even think twice, even if it meant leaving the sunny weekend in Denver over cloudy and rainy weekend in Steamboat Springs. The low season or the so called ‘mud season’ allowed us to explore the town at our own pace with less rush and the main street shops still open.
We started the day with the brunch at Winona’s. The place surely lived upto its expectations with yummy muffins and breakfast treats. Then it was time for a little walk. And low season meant I could take uninterrupted pictures. 😀
Besides trying the local restaurants, I like to visit the local shops and boutiques when I am in a town. Found this cute display with rainboots being used as a flower vase. The outfits were just as cute as the display.
For a walk in downtown I prefer clothes which are easy and I can live in them all day. So I opted for a pair of leggings and a not so basic silk top in grey. Loved this top as it was really flattering on my body due to the heavy fall of the material and a deep v-neck.
To add a chic touch to the outfit, I wrapped a silky skinny scarf around my bare neck, instead of opting for a necklace.
So what are your favorite spring getaway ideas?
Sounds like a great mini vacation! That outfit looks gorgeous and that skinny scarf is just the right accessory for this outfit!
